-
What conditions can physiotherapy treat?Physiotherapy can treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: Back and neck pain Sports injuries Arthritis Post-surgical rehabilitation Postural problems Headaches and migraines Musculoskeletal disorders Respiratory conditions
-
Do I need a referral from a doctor? In most cases, you can see a physiotherapist without a referral. However, some insurance companies or healthcare providers may require a referral for coverage or reimbursement. It’s a good idea to check with your provider.
-
Does physiotherapy hurt?Physiotherapy is generally not painful, but certain techniques may cause mild discomfort as they aim to improve mobility and relieve tension. Your physiotherapist will work with you to ensure you’re comfortable and adjust the treatment as needed.
-
Is physiotherapy only for injuries or can it also help prevent them?Physiotherapy is not just for treating injuries; it can also help prevent them. Your physiotherapist will assess your movement patterns, strength, and posture to identify potential risks and design a program to improve your body mechanics and prevent future injuries.
-
How can physiotherapy help with chronic pain?Physiotherapy can help manage chronic pain through a combination of pain-relieving techniques, manual therapy, strengthening exercises, posture correction, and education. By addressing the root causes of the pain, physiotherapy can improve mobility and reduce discomfort over time. If you have specific questions related to your situation, it's always a good idea to consult with your physiotherapist for tailored advice.
-
Will I need to do exercises at home?Yes, many physiotherapy treatments involve exercises you can do at home. These exercises help speed up recovery, improve mobility, and prevent future issues. Your physiotherapist will guide you on how to do them correctly and provide any necessary modifications.
-

-
What should I expect during my initial assessment session?During your first session, your physiotherapist will conduct a thorough assessment, which may include a physical exam, a review of your medical history, and questions about your lifestyle. Based on this, they'll develop a personalized treatment plan to address your specific concerns.
-
What should I bring with me to the initial assessment session? To get the most out of your initial session, please bring the following with you: Suitable clothing for assessment and treatment Relevant medical reports or referral letters Scan or X-ray reports if applicable A relative or caregiver if you have memory concerns or need assistance Any supports, braces, or orthotics you currently use Running shoes (if your condition is related to running or exercise) This will help us create a thorough and personalized treatment plan for you.
-
What should I wear for my first visit?Suitable clothing depends on the nature of your condition. You may be required to undress to some degree so that your physiotherapist can properly assess and treat the area of concern. If your appointment is in clinic, there are changing facilities available for your convenience. For conditions affecting the head, neck, chest, upper back, shoulders, upper arms, elbows, forearms, or hands, you will likely need to undress your upper body. A vest top can be worn, but your physiotherapist may need to assess you without clothing covering the upper body to make an accurate diagnosis. It is very unlikely that you will be asked to remove your underwear. For conditions affecting the thighs, knees, lower legs, ankles, or feet, you will likely need to undress your lower half. We recommend bringing a pair of shorts with you. It is very unlikely that you will be asked to remove your underwear. For conditions affecting the lower back, abdomen, or pelvis, you may be asked to undress both your upper and lower body. A vest top and shorts are recommended for your appointment. Again, it is highly unlikely you will be asked to remove your underwear, but these areas of the body will need to be visible for a proper assessment and treatment plan. For full-body conditions or issues affecting both the upper and lower body, both your upper and lower halves may need to be undressed. You should bring a t-shirt or vest top and shorts. It is essential that your physiotherapist can assess your whole body in these cases to make a definitive diagnosis and plan your treatment. You may also be asked to perform exercises, so be sure to wear loose-fitting clothing and appropriate footwear.
-
What should I wear to a physiotherapy appointment?Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. Depending on the treatment, you may need to expose the area being treated, so wear clothes that provide access to that part of the body.
-
Where can I park?We have on site parking. When you book your appointment, let us know to make sure to reserve the spot for you.
-
Can I bring a family member or friend to my session? If you feel more comfortable, you can bring a family member or friend to your appointment. We also encourage your support person to join in, especially if you need help with mobility or exercises.
-

However, at the moment, we do not accept NHS or private healthcare insurance payments. We are actively working on arrangements to accept insurance in the future and will update our FAQs once these changes are in place.
-
Do you offer direct billing to insurance companies?Currently, we do not offer direct billing to insurance companies. We will update our FAQs once we are able to offer direct billing.
